France's metal industry output up two percent in Jan over Dec

France's manufacturing output in January this year increased by 0.7 percent compared to December, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).
 
In January, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by two percent month on month, after a month-on-month increase of 0.1 percent in December. In January, the country's production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 0.3 percent on month-on-month basis after a 2.6 percent month-on-month increase recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry decreased by 2.2 percent month on month in January, after an increase of 3.6 percent in December compared to November.
