France's manufacturing output in October rose by 0.5 percent month on month, after a 0.8 percent month-on-month increase in September, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the August-October quarter of this year, France’s manufacturing output was down by 0.3 percent year on year and fell by 0.8 percent quarter on quarter.
In October, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, was up by one percent compared to September, after a 1.4 percent decline month on month in August. In the August-October quarter, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in October production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry rose by 3.4 percent on month-on-month basis after a 3.4 percent month-on-month contraction recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry was down by 1.9 percent month on month in the given month after increasing by 2.4 percent in September compared to August. In the August-October quarter, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry declined by 4.9 percent and output of the domestic construction industry contracted by two percent, both quarter on quarter.
