France's metal industry output down 1.5 percent in July from June

France's manufacturing output in July this year decreased by one percent month on month, after a 0.6 percent month-on-month decrease in June, and rose by 0.6 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). Over the last three months, France’s manufacturing output indicated a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.
 
In July, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 1.5 percent compared to June, after a month-on-month decrease of 0.8 percent in June. In the May-July period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment decreased by two percent compared to the previous quarter.
 
On the other hand, in July production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 2.9 percent on month-on-month basis after a 0.2 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased be one percent month on month in July, after a decrease of 1.9 percent in June from May. In May-July period, outputs of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry and of the domestic construction industry decreased by 2.5 percent and 0.1 percent respectively quarter on quarter.
