Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-July period of the current year totaled $76.63 billion, up 7.9 percent year on year, with a total of 14,409 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 8.8 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on August 19.
In the January-July period of this year, $23.84 billion of FDI went into China’s manufacturing industry, down 5.4 percent year on year, accounting for 31.1 percent of the total FDI figure, while $47.5 billion went into the country’s services industry, up 19.6 percent year on year, accounting for 62 percent of the total.
