Foreign direct investment by Chinese companies up 47.4% in January-May

In the first five months of the current year, overseas foreign direct investment (FDI) by Chinese companies totaled $45.41 billion, up 47.4 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on June 18.

Meanwhile, in the January-May period, new contracts signed by Chinese companies for investment in projects in foreign countries were worth a total of $67.58 billion, up 26.6 percent year on year.
