Foreign direct investment in China up 16.11 percent in January

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in January of the current year totaled $10.763 billion, up 16.11 percent year on year, rising for the 12th consecutive month on year-on-year basis, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC). Around $6.33 billion of the total went into China's services industry, while FDI in Chinese manufacturing was down 21.7 percent year on year in January. Meanwhile, Chinese overseas investments totaled $7.23 billion in the given month, up 47.2 percent year on year.

In 2013, foreign direct investment in mainland China had totaled $117.586 billion, up 5.25 percent year on year.
