Foreign direct investment in China up 11.1 percent in Jan-Apr

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the first four months of the current year totaled $44.49 billion, up 11.1 percent year on year, with a total of 7,790 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 17 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on May 14.

In the first four months of the year, around $28.14 billion of the total FDI went into China's services industry, with 5,636 companies in the services industry being established by foreign investment in the given period, up 24.8 percent and 32.1 percent year on year, respectively.
