An insider at US car producer Ford has stated that the company may have to shift the production of its Ford Fusion vehicle from Mexico to US plants, and that more than 4,000 jobs will likely be provided in the US by this move. At the current time, the Ford Fusion vehicle is produced at the Hermosillo plant in Mexico which employs 3,335 personnel.

Meanwhile, talks between the United Auto Workers labor union and US car producer Ford Motor Co. for a new labor contract are nearing a conclusion. Ford and UAW have both declined to give details on the talks. Ford's roughly 41,000 UAW-represented workers have high expectations for wages and bonuses because of the automaker's performance, while Ford expects to reduce labor costs at the talks
