France-based machine industry company Fives Group has announced that it has developed a cold rolling mill called DMS 20Hi EcoMill, to enable the rolling of ultra-thin strips for electrical steel which are in high demand on the market.

DMS 20Hi EcoMill technology, which enables a strip to be rolled down to 0.1 mm thickness on the full width of 1,250 mm, aims to reduce operating costs and increase the overall capacity of the mill.

The new rolling mill was recently supplied to Chinese steelmaker Xinyu Steel. The mill has an annual production capacity of 100,000 mt of high-quality non-grain-oriented grades.
