First Quantum announces nickel output results for H1

Canadian mining company First Quantum Minerals has announced its results for the second quarter and Meanwhile half year ended June 30, 2012.

Accordingly, First Quantum's 100 percent owned Ravensthorpe nickel mine in Australia, which started commercial production on December 28, 2011, produced 16,626 mt of nickel in the first half of the year., the company's nickel sales in the first six months of the year was 15,178 mt.

In 2011, the mine produced 5,666 mt of nickel and sales from Ravensthorpe amounted to 1,388 mt. The company's nickel output forecast for 2012 is 36,000-40,000 mt.
