Houston, Texas-based Noble Energy, an independent energy company engaged in worldwide oil and gas exploration and production, has been granted a permit to resume drilling at its Santiago prospect in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico after being suspended in June 2010 following the deepwater Gulf of Mexico drilling moratorium that was issued as a result of BP Plc's oil spill 10 months ago.

Drilling operations are anticipated to resume in late March 2011 and be completed by the end of May 2011.
