Ferrexpo announces January 2009 production results

The UK-based company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first month of 2009.

Accordingly, during the given period the company recorded a 20.6 percent decrease year on year in its iron ore production to 1.883 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 26.6 percent fall to 653,500 metric tons.

During the first month of 2009, Ferrexpo's total pellet production decreased by 31.4 percent year on year to 510,300 metric tons.
