The Russian steel producer Evraz Group plans next year to increase the monthly output of pitch coke at the coke-chemical production facilities of its subsidiary Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK), roughly doubling the monthly output volume to 4,500 mt.

In order to increase NTMK's pitch coke output, Evraz plans in 2010 to carry out a capital repair at the plant's second block of furnaces.

Accordingly, after the repairs have been completed, NTMK will next year start to produce pitch coke not only for its customers, but also for the needs of its blast furnace shop.
