Evraz starts pre-commissioning for coal dust injection at ZSMK

Global steelmaking and mining giant Evraz Group S.A. has stated that pre-commissioning has started at the construction site of the coal dust injection utility for the West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant of Evraz (EVRAZ ZSMK).

The company has completed the main facilities of the complex for the coal dust injection utility, finished the assembly of equipment, the electric mechanical products and automated management systems. Evraz completed preparing of ZSMK ‘s blast furnaces for coal dust injection. The company is curently carrying out checking of signals and individual testing of all coal dust injection equipment. After completion of this work, specialists will start a dry run of the major equipment and will start hot commissioning.

The investment project for the construction of the coal dust injection utility at the West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant of Evraz (EVRAZ ZSMK) was launched in October 2009, while construction started in February 2011. The first injection into the blast furnace No. 2 is scheduled for the third quarter of 2014.
