EVRAZ North America lays off 18 at Canadian mill

Canadian news outlets reported today that EVRAZ North America has laid off 18 workers at its Regina, Saskatchewan mill.

"Like other producers, we are facing economic challenges from excessive imports and the sharp downturn in oil prices," the company said in a statement to CBC.

The company did not provide any further details about the layoffs other than confirmation of them.
 
EVRAZ Regina produces plate and coil, small and large diameter pipe, and oil and gas well tubing for the energy sector.
