European scrap indexes down slightly in May from April levels

Local scrap prices in the major markets in the European Union (EU) in May this year indicated a slight downtrend on month-on-month basis, while demolition scrap and shredded increased year on year, according to the scrap indexes for May issued by the European Steel Association (EUROFER). The scrap index values for May are as follows:
