Annual inflation in the euro area was -0.1 percent in March this year, up from -0.3 percent in February, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In March 2014, the annual inflation rate was 0.5 percent.
Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-28) annual inflation was -0.1 percent in March, up from -0.3 percent in February. In March 2014, the annual inflation rate in the EU-28 was 0.6 percent.
In March this year, annual inflation in the EU-28 increased in 22 states, fell in three states and remained stable in three states as compared with February. The lowest inflation rates were observed in Greece (-1.9%), Cyprus (-1.2%), Poland (-1.2%) , Bulgaria and Lithuania (-1.1%), while the highest were observed in Austria (0.9%), Romania (0.8%) and Sweden (0.7%).
