As of March 2, Russia utilized 9.2 percent of the steel quota allocated to it by the European Union (EU) for the current year, while Kazakhstan utilized zero percent of its EU quota.
According to the latest statistics, Russia exported a total of 286,178 tons of steel products to the EU in the period in question. The quota allocated to Russia for 2009 is 3,106,775 tons.
Specifically, Russia used 15.46 percent of its hot rolled coil quota (164,007 of 1,060,875 allotted tons), 5.10 percent of its plate quota (14,375 of 281,875 allotted tons), 4.69 percent of its alloy sheet quota (5,050 of 107,625 allotted tons), and 8.63 percent of its wire rod quota (28,645 of 332,100 allotted tons).
