EU committee meets in February for new AD proposal

The discussions with respect to new anti-dumping proceedings on hot rolled coil have not yet been discussed in the last week's meeting of the EU Commission's advisory committee. A proposal regarding the issue is expected to be submitted soon, under which it is commonly believed that new measures might be suggested for Egypt, Turkey and Slovakia. SteelOrbis understands that a special meeting will now be organized on February 4, 2003. During this meeting, the Member States will be asked to vote on the Commission proposal. A final decision is not expected to be reached during that meeting; however, it is highly possible that the issue will be rediscussed during another meeting to be held on February 20, 2003.
