Iema, the Brazilian environmental authority, plans to evaluate in the next few months both Vale and ArcelorMittal Tubarao’s licenses in the state of Espirito Santo.

The Espirito do Santo state authority launched a special commission with the aim of continuing the renovation processes of both Vale and ArcelorMittal’s operations located at the Tubarao port complex in the city of Vitoria.

According to a media report, a local NGO has been pressuring Iema to “regularize” both companies’ licenses in the Tubarao port complex.

Local NGO Juntos SOS ES argued both Vale and ArcelorMittal have been operating through provisional licenses for 10 years and four years, respectively.
