SteelOrbis Shanghai This week, the trading volume of the market has not changed much compared with last week and the market has remained quiet comparatively. The traders generally think that the customers will strengthen their purchases before May Day because they want to maintain the regular production in holiday, so the traders' inventories were larger than that in last week. The market prices of galvanized coils also remained unchanged. According to the latest statistics, galvanized coil output of Chinese steel mills was 1.2137 million metric tons in March, up 475,200 metric tons monthly, mainly due to the high level of their exports. The market inventories of galvanized coils are still at a low level but larger than February inventories due to the strong increase in output. Meanwhile, the market demand is gradually enlarging. At Guangzhou Export Commodities Fair that has just ended, the foreign orders received by Chinese household appliances companies received have increased by a wide margin compared with the previous fair. Among the orders, those from European Union are also increasing steadily, supporting the demand for galvanized coils in China. Environment friendly electrical home appliances have caught more interest as they are in accordance with the European standard. Therefore, now, Chinese steel mills are striving for developing environment friendly galvanized steel sheet production.
