On June 6, the Department of Commerce (US DOC) announced the initiation of antidumping duty (AD) investigations of imports of welded stainless pressure pipe from Malaysia, Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Vietnam). The alleged dumping margins are 22.67 to 22.73 percent for Malaysia, 23.77 to 24.01 percent on imports from Thailand and 89.40 to 90.80 percent for Vietnam.
The petitioners for these investigations are Bristol Metals LLC, Felker Brothers Corp. and Outokumpu Stainless Pipe, Inc.
If the ITC determines that there is a reasonable indication that imports from Malaysia, Thailand, and/or Vietnam materially injure, or threaten material injury to, the domestic industry, the investigations will continue and the US DOC will be scheduled to make its preliminary determinations in October 2013, unless the statutory deadline is extended. If the ITC preliminary determinations are negative, the investigations will be terminated.
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to make its preliminary injury determinations on or before July 1, 2013.
The subject imports are normally classified in subheadings 7306.40.5005, 7306.40.5040, 7306.40.5062, 7306.40.5064, and 7306.40.5085 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS).
