DOC initiates AD investigations into WR imports from three countries
The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the initiation of formal antidumping investigations into carbon and certain alloy steel
wire rod imported from
China,
Germany, and
Turkey. The notice regarding the initiation of the investigation is expected to be released in the Federal Register this week.
After reviewing the antidumping petition, the DOC slightly adjusted the alleged dumping margins, as follows:
Country Dumping margin
China 321.76 percent
Germany 50.25-81.88 percent
Turkey 29.23-77.76 percent
The margins are based on the foreign mills' responses to the antidumping questionnaire. These alleged dumping margins normally play no role in the DOC's eventual calculation of dumping margins for the foreign mills.
