German plate producer Dillinger Hütte has announced that UK-based EDF Energy Renewable officially opened its Teesside Offshore wind farm located in northeastern England in April this year.

Dillinger Hütte supplied around 16,000 mt of, essentially thermo-mechanically rolled, heavy plates in thicknesses up to 85 mm for the production of monopole foundations in the wind farm.

The 27 installed turbines have the capacity to produce 62 MW of electricity to power up to 40,000 households.
