Delegates at OECD meeting work on outlining a draft agreement

The OECD meetings to take place on May 13-14, 2003 have been extended to complete on Thursday, May 15, 2003. The general topics discussed during these meetings are possible ways to handle the global overcapacity on which a peer review has been decided and to eliminate the existing state subsidies in the steel sector worldwide. The delegates are working on preparing a draft text for an agreement for banning the state subsidies. The agreement is planned to be signed towards the end of this year. Further meetings have also been scheduled to take place on dates June 11-13 and July 16-18
