Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply a new 300 mm x150 mm casting section for the four-strand bloom caster of Indian state-owned steel producer Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) supplied by Danieli in 2015, in operation at the company’s Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP).

Danieli stated that the purpose of this upgrade, as part of SAIL’s expansion program of Durgapur Steel Plant, is to fill the gap in the requirements of the medium structural mill of the plant. On completion of the ongoing expansion program, DSP will have an installed capacity of 2.2 million mt per year.
