Danieli to supply walking beam furnace for JSW Steel’s wire rod mill No. 2

Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that its subsidiary Danieli Centro Combustion will supply a new walking beam furnace for Indian steelmaker JSW Steel’s new wire rod mill No. 2 in Vijayanagar-Tornagallu, Karnataka state, India.

According to Danieli, the new furnace will process mostly special steels like low-alloy, high-carbon and free-cutting steel, which will be transformed into wire rods, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million mt. Production start is planned for the third quarter of 2019.

Danieli also stated that this will be the third walking beam furnace supplied to JSW Steel.
