Italian plantmaker Danieli has been awarded an order from Luanda, Angola-based private sector firm Aceria de Angola SA for the supply of an entire long steel production facility, as reported by international media sources. The first phase of the steel complex will have an annual production capacity of 500,000 mt of reinforcing bar and will be commissioned by the end of Q3 2013. The Angolan buyer has already projectd the doubling of installed production capacity, adding new equipment aimed at the production of wire rod and merchant bars. No deadline has been announced for the completion of the second phase of the project.
Aceria de Angola SA has specifically required Danieli to install state-of-the-art technologies in all of the supplied plants. Danieli offers a complete service covering the whole production flow from raw material preparation to smelting and rolling processes, and also including water/gas treatment and auxiliary equipment.
At present, Aceria de Angola SA, through its subsidiary ASC, is the leading supplier of reinforcing bar in the Angolan domestic market, as well as in adjacent countries.
