Dalian, Liaoning Province-based Chinese special steelmaker Dalian Special Steel Co., a subsidiary of Dongbei Special Steel Group, has announced that in 2011 it produced 430,000 mt of crude steel and 330,000 mt of finished steel. Meanwhile, for the given year its operating revenue totaled RMB 4.1 billion ($653 million) and its export revenue amounted to $69.37 million.

China's annual imports of special steel exceed 3 million mt. In the current year, Dalian Special Steel plans to replace some of these imports, producing 1.25 million mt of crude steel and 1.13 million mt of finished steel (three times the finished steel output volume in 2011), while its main business revenue is expected to reach RMB 7.8 billion ($1.242 billion).
