Daily coal shipments from Qinhuangdao port in China's Hebei Province hit an all-time historic peak of 873,000 mt on July 3, exceeding the previous historic high of 870,000 mt reached on June 9.
The increased coal shipments at Qinhuangdao port are mainly attributable to higher demand. At the same time, however, in the five days prior to July 3, coal shipments at the port were negatively hit by foggy weather, and rose sharply on July 3 as the fog cleared.
As of July 3, coal inventory at Qinhuangdao port remained at saturated levels, at 7.74 million mt.
