CVS Makine, the Kocaeli-based Turkish part and equipment manufacturer for steel mills, has announced that it has signed a design, manufacture and installation contract to increase high alloy steel production capacity at Zeljezara Niksic A.D. in Montenegro.

Within the scope of the expansion project, CVS Makine is currently installing a 65-ton electric arc furnace and a dust collecting system. The installation of the equipment in question is scheduled to be completed in November this year. Following the commissioning of the new plant, Zeljezara Niksic will be able to increase its production capacity by 65 percent to an annual output level of 500,000 metric tons.

In addition to these developments, CVS Makine will also modernize and install Zeljezara Niksic's water plants which feed its existing two electric arc furnaces and its continuous casting unit. The works are planned to be completed within four months.

CVS Makine has said that it will also supply training programs for the new equipment.
