CVRD completes price deals with Arcelor

The world's largest iron ore producer, Brazil's Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD), recently completed 2005 iron ore and pellet price negotiations with Europe's largest steel maker, Arcelor. According to the agreement, Carajas (SFCJ) FOB Ponta da Madeira and Southern System iron ore fines (SSF) FOB Tubarao prices increased 71.5%. The price of Tubarao blast furnace pellets FOB Tubarao increased 86.67% to US$ 1.1551 per metric ton Fe unit. Sao Luis blast furnace pellets FOB Ponta da Madeira increased 86.43% to US$ 1.1857 per metric ton Fe unit.
