CSC’s steel sales up 11.2 percent in August from July

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in August this year its carbon steel sales volume increased by 11.2 percent to one million metric tons compared to July, accounting for 71 percent of domestic sales. During the first eight months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 7.27 million mt, up 16 percent year on year, accounting for 68 percent of domestic sales.

In August, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 30.63 billion ($1.01 billion), rising by eight percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 1.49 billion ($49.55 million), compared to an income before tax of NTD 1.33 billion in the previous month.
