CSC’s steel sales up 10 percent in May from April

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in May this year its carbon steel sales volume increased by 10 percent to 956,201 metric tons compared to April, accounting for 67 percent of domestic sales. During the first four months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 4.52 million mt, up 26.7 percent year on year, accounting for 66 percent of domestic sales.
 
In May, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 30.16 billion ($994.47 million), increasing by eight percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 1.77 billion ($58.64 million), compared to an income before tax of NTD 1.97 billion in the previous month.
