CSC sees reduced carbon steel sales in February

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in February this year its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 746,713 metric tons, down 5.6 percent compared to January, accounting for 66 percent of domestic sales. In the first two months of the current year, the company sold 1.54 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales.
 
In February, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 28.55 billion ($942.2 million), down 11.6 percent month on month. In the first two months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 60.8 billion ($2 billion). In February, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 1.5 billion ($49.5 million), rising by a slight margin of 0.7 percent compared to January.
