China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest Taiwanese integrated steel producer, has sent a petition to the Ministry of Finance of Taiwan seeking an antidumping (AD) investigation against low-priced steel imports from Japan, South Korea, China and India.

CSC is seeking an initiation of an antidumping investigation and an AD duty of 20-50 percent on steel products imported from the aforementioned countries to protect domestic industry from unfair competition. The ministry is expected to decide whether to initiate an AD investigation on steel products from these countries within 40 days. If an investigation is launched, an injury determination regarding the impact of imported steel products from the countries in question on the local Taiwanese industry will be concluded within 80 days.
