Court temporarily closes Evraz mine in wake of accident

A ruling by the municipal court of Kiselev in the Kemerovo region has suspended operations at Russian steel and mining company Evraz Holding's Mine 12, where a roof collapse resulted in the death of three miners last Sunday.

According to the ruling, all mining operations at Mine 12 have been suspended until September 1, 2008. 

In 2007, Mine 12 produced 893,000 mt of coal, including over 667,000 mt of hard coking coal.
