Correction: Lakeside Steel indicates possible interest in ThyssenKrupp’s Alabama complex

On Wednesday, June 9, SteelOrbis published a news item entitled "Canada's Lakeside Steel indicates possible interest ThyssenKrupp's Alabama complex", in which it was reported that Canadian-based Lakeside Steel had been in correspondence with ThyssenKrupp Steel USA regarding potential interest in their Mobile-Alabama steel complex.

However, it was mistakenly reported that the Canadian steelmaker was considering "relocation" to the complex, instead of "location" to the complex, due to possible considerations of expanding their operation into the southwestern United States.

No final determination has been made.  Lakeside has further indicated they have no intention of closing operations in their Welland-Ontario location.
