Confidence in Italian construction sector falls in November

According to Italy’s national statistics office Istat, in November this year the seasonally adjusted confidence index in the Italian construction sector decreased from 81.1 to 79.7 points, declining by 1.72 percent month on month, after a stronger month-on-month fall of 5.45 percent in October.
 
In November, assessments on order backlogs and/or construction plans decreased slightly, while employment expectations improved marginally, as compared to October.
 
The index rose by 5.35 percent in the field of building construction in November, but fell by 3.54 percent in civil engineering and by 6.3 percent in specialized construction works, all month on month.
