SteelOrbis Shanghai Color coated coil supply decreased while the demand increased, causing to a steady price increase for color coated coils last week. The decrease in the supply of color coated coils was due to a decrease in galvanized coil supplies, which are used as substrates for colored coil. Meanwhile, the rise in demand due to Spring also increased color coated coil market prices. Furthermore, Baosteel and Benxi Steel adjusted their color coated coil ex-factory prices last week: the ex-factory price of Baosteel increased RMB 100/mt ($12), and that of Benxi Steel increased RMB 600/mt ($75), indicating that the steady increase in market prices would continue in the future. Last week, the increase in color coated coil market prices was about RMB 100/mt ($12) week on week. On March 24, the average market price of 0.476 mm color coated coil was RMB 6,200/mt ($772), up RMB 83 ($10), and that of 0.4 mm color coated coil was RMB 6,617/mt ($824), up RMB 134 ($17) weekly.
