Colombia exported 42,874 mt of ferronickel in the first four months of this year, falling 13.7 percent, with a value of $246 million, falling 24.8 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In April, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 11,362 mt, rising 13.8 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $65 million, up 2.7 percent, both compared to April 2012.
In April this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 21,500 mt, falling 18.5 percent, and were worth $78.9 million, down 6.8 percent, both compared to the same month of 2012. In the first four months of the year,
Colombia's iron and steel export value fell by 24.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, coming to $307 million, totaling 86,366 mt, down 17 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first four months
Colombia imported 859,714 mt of iron and steel, rising by 10.9 percent year on year. The country's iron and steel import value decreased 3.6 percent year on year to $788 million in the first four months of the current year.
