Colombian crude steel output up in April

Colombian crude steel output in April rose nearly 16 percent, year-on-year, according to data released on Monday by the country’s committee of steel producers, CPA.
 
CPA said crude steel output in April totaled 104,977 mt, up from 90,548 mt in the same month of the year prior, but 10.1 percent down, month-on-month, from 116,855 mt in March.
 
As for the accumulated period of January to April this year, Colombian crude steel production totaled 423,894 mt, 0.3 percent down compared to the same period of 2016.
 
CPA said finished long steel production in April rose 14 percent, year-on-year, to 116,019 mt, but fell 4.3 percent, month-on-month.
 
In the first four months of 2017, finished long steel production totaled 451,857 mt, 1.6 percent up, year-on-year.
