Colombian crude steel output rises 13.5 percent year-on-year in August

Colombian crude steel output in August rose 13.5 percent, year-on-year, according to data released on Tuesday by the country’s Committee of Steel Producers, CPA. On a monthly comparison, crude steel production in August fell 5.4 percent versus July, when local crude steel output reached 113,576 mt.

Accumulated crude steel production for the eight-month period from January to August this year was 859,852 mt, a marginal growth of 1 percent, year-on-year.

Finished long steel production in August was 122,034 mt, nearly 1 percent down, year-on-year, but 16.7 percent up, month-on-month.

Accumulated long finished output for the January-August period was 901,953 mt, 2 percent up, year-on-year.
