On March 6, the Hebei Coke Industry Association held a meeting to discuss the current situation of the coal, coke and steel markets in the northeastern Chinese province. During the meeting, the following suggestions were made with regard to the coke market for the month of March.

Firstly, based on slackening demand each enterprise should cut production by 30-40 percent.

Secondly, due to the softening market and the increasingly aggressive offers in the market, coke producers should give priority to production and service quality.

Finally, the Hebei Coke Industry Association will gather together all member enterprises in the search for low-price imported coke. The association will also actively cooperate with the group newly founded by the China Coking Industry Association which is responsible for locating imported coke.
