Coke export at Tianjin port exceeded 4 million tons

According to the statistics data, coke export at China's Tianjin port has reached 4.08 million tons in January – April 2005, with trade value reaching $840 million, up 31% and 7% against that of the same period of 2004. Coke is mainly exported under general trade at Tianjin Port, and is mainly exported to Belgium, Japan, the USA and Brazil. According to statistics data, coke exported from Tianjin Port to Belgium has reached 670'000 tons for January - April 2005, up 2.6 folds, accounting for 16.3% of the total export quantity; that to Japan has reached 660'000, down 23%, accounting for 16.1% of the total export quantity; that to America has reached 65'000 tons, up 2.5 folds, accounting for 15.9% of the whole export quantity; and that to Brazil has reached 490'000 tons, down 5.4%, accounting for 12% of the total quantity. Shanxi, Beijing and Shanghai are the major coke exporter at Tianjin Port. For detail, during January - April 2005, coke export from Shanxi Province has mounted 2.02 million tons, up 19%, accounting for 50% of the total export quantity; that from Beijing has totaled 1.43 million tons, up 19%, accounting for 35% of the total; and that from Shanghai has reached 310'000 tons, up 23%, accounting for 8% of the total.
