CMC Steel Arizona held a grand opening ceremony in Mesa, Arizona this week for its newest steel mill.

CMC's new rebar minimill officially opened on Tuesday, December 8.

The new facility will add over 200 jobs to the community and use the latest air filtering technology to eliminate dust from the manufacturing process and to minimize greenhouse gas emissions.

"This is probably the most ‘green' steel mill in the world," Russ Rinn, President of CMC's Americas Division, said. "CMC Steel and its parent firm, Commercial Metals Company, are committed to using the most advanced technology to minimize our environmental footprint."

With the new facility, CMC plans to serve customers within a 500-mile radius.
