CISA: China composite steel price index decreases in November

According to the data released by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), as of the end of November (November 30) the composite steel price index (CSPI) for the Chinese domestic market was at 56.19 points, down 3.25 points or 5.47 percent month on month, while decreasing by 29.10 points or 34.12 percent on year-on-year basis. 

At the end of November, the CSPI long steel index was at 57.77 points, down 3.44 points or 5.62 percent month on month and decreasing by 28.32 points or 32.90 percent year on year, while the CSPI flat steel index stood at 54.98 points, down 3.22 points or 5.53 percent month on month and declining by 31.13 points or 36.15 percent year on year. 

During the month of November, among the eight main steel products monitored by the CISA, prices of high-speed wire rod, rebar, medium plate, hot rolled coil (HRC), cold rolled sheet (CRS), hot dip galvanized (HDG), angles and seamless pipe decreased by RMB 117/mt ($18.08/mt), RMB 120/mt ($18.55/mt), RMB 102/mt ($15.77/mt), RMB 131/mt ($20.25/mt), RMB 146/mt ($22.57/mt), RMB 119/mt ($18.39/mt), RMB 142/mt ($21.95/mt) and RMB 120/mt ($18.55/mt), respectively.
