CISA mills' finished steel sales down 2.19 percent in May

In May this year, the aggregate finished steel sales volume of 144 steel enterprises in China - all CISA members - amounted to 47.9879 million mt, down 2.19 percent year on year, as announced by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). In the January-May period of the current year, the 144 CISA member steel enterprises sold 227.1496 million mt, down 2.91 percent year on year.
 
In May this year, the 144 CISA member steel enterprises sold 20.3691 million mt of long products and 26.1352 million mt of steel plate and steel strip, down 6.53 percent and up 1.82 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-May period of the current year, the enterprises in question sold 95.3366 million mt of long products and 125.0969 million mt of steel plate and steel strip, decreasing by 6.77 percent and rising by 0.55 percent year on year, respectively.
