Iron ore prices in China moved on a rising trend during the month of December, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
At the end of December last year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 280.35 points, up 17.68 points or 6.73 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 235.62 points, up 6.41 points or 2.8 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 288.78 points, increasing by 19.81 points or 7.37 percent month on month.
For the whole of December, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 280.16 points, up 24.31 points or 9.5 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 234.09 points, increasing by 13.91 points or 6.32 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 288.84 points, rising by 26.27 points or 10.0 percent, both month on month.
