CISA: Iron ore prices in China increase during April

Iron ore prices in China indicated overall upward movement during the month of April, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). 

At the end of April this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 231.72 points, up 34.88 points or 17.72 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 203.76 points, up 15.06 points or 7.98 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 236.99 points, rising by 38.62 points or 19.47 percent month on month. 

For the whole month of April, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 215.85 points, up 16.12 points or 8.07 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 195.12 points, up 11.12 points or 6.04 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 219.77 points, increasing by 15.80 points or 7.75 percent, both month on month.
